Christian Education
Meets 9 -10 a.m. on Sunday Mornings in the Mission Center for all children in 3rd grade through High School.
3rd & 4th grade meet in Room 207
5th to 7th grade meets in Room 211
8th grade and highschool meets in the Youth Room (217)
Confirmation: Those who wish to be confirmed in March 1, 2026 should attend Youth Sunday School regularly to be prepared for confirmation. For more details, contact Corky Foltz at cfoltz@goodshepherdkingwood.org.
Children in 2nd grade and under should attend our 9:15 family service, where they will hear teaching geared towards their age group rather than a regular sermon, and they will have special activities and additional learning at the end of the service.
Elementary Communion: Any child who is baptized is encouraged to receive communion at any of our services. “First Communion” is not required. We do celebrate and recognize children who have begun to understand the basic ideas about the Eucharist on the Sunday after Easter Sunday (April 12, 2026) with a special procession and by having these children come up first for communion. Children learn about the Eucharist and our traditions during and just after the Family Celebration service each Sunday.
