Join The Sunday, November 23, Procession! The contemporary tradition of bringing food to the altar at Thanksgiving is a symbolic practice rooted in ancient religious custom and imbued with modern communal significance. It represents both an act of corporate worship and a profound expression of gratitude to God for the abundance of His blessings. On Sunday, November 23, members of the congregation are invited to take part in a procession of Thanksgiving, presenting gifts of food to be blessed at the altar. Following the service, these offerings will be distributed to those in need. Those wishing to participate are asked to gather in the Narthex by 9:45 a.m. with their offerings. Members of the Flower Guild will be present to offer assistance as needed. For this occasion, we are especially seeking fresh fruits and vegetables. Suggested gifts include apples, oranges, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, celery, carrots, onions, squash, broccoli, and cabbage. We invite each family member to carry an offering, except for those too young or otherwise unable to do so. The presentation of food is a tangible expression of our reverence and thanksgiving to God, who has so richly blessed us. May this act of offering deepen our sense of gratitude and serve as a meaningful expression of devotion.
