Roadrunners Museum Trip
The Road Runners next outing will be a deliciously, fun learning experience. Join us on
Sunday, April 6 as we travel to La Porte to enjoy lunch at the Monument Inn Restaurant
with its waterfront views of the Houston Ship Channel. After lunch we’ll explore the San
Jacinto Monument And Museum. The San Jacinto Monument is a 570-foot obelisk that
commemorates the Texian victory over Mexico in the Texan War for Independence (1836).
It is the world's tallest masonry tower. The Museum is located inside the base of the
monument and focuses on the history of the Battle of San Jacinto and Texas culture and
heritage and spans over four centuries of early Texas history, from the beginnings of
European activity in the New World through Texas as a state in the United States. The cost of the monument is $10.00.
The Harris County Precinct Bus will depart immediately following the 10:15 worship. Sign up
