Stewardship Matching Pledge Challenge

If You’ve Never Pledged Before, Now You Can Double Your Impact!

Dear Good Shepherd Family,

Are you aware that less than half of the families who call Good Shepherd their church home have never made a formal pledge during a stewardship campaign? That’s right. Almost 58% of our congregation have never made formal stewardship pledges.

Why does that matter? A formal pledge, much like a regular paycheck, enables your Vestry to more easily plan and budget for the coming year. If they know how much is expected to come in, they’ll know how much they have to work with. Just like household budgeting.

Today we are announcing a special matching gift challenge for first-time pledgers only.

Through the remainder of this stewardship season (September 28), if you have never made a formal pledge to Good Shepherd, any pledge you make will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to a set goal. This wonderful gift is made possible through the generosity of one of our Good Shepherd families, in deep gratitude for all our church has meant in their lives.

Our parish is at an important turning point. Over the past few years, we’ve taken major steps toward health and renewal. We’re moving in the right direction. Now is the time to build that momentum. This is a special and rare opportunity to double the impact of your support for our ministries, outreach programs, and community efforts.

If you’ve never pledged before and have been considering making a pledge, now is the perfect time. Your pledge in any amount – doubled by this matching gift challenge – will go twice as far in helping us to continue the ministries we all cherish, attracting a new rector, solidifying our position for the future, and ultimately reaching even more people with God’s message of love. Together, we can accomplish great things for our beloved Good Shepherd.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration and continued generosity.

If you have any questions or concerns about how this matching gift challenge will work, please talk to Stewardship Chair Roger Horton or Senior Warden Bob Kessler.

Blessings,

Bob Kessler, Senior Warden
